Tolbachik + Esso

Transfer from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the Klyuchevskaya group of volcanoes by off-road vehicles (460 km). Lunch in the village Milkovo. Arrival to the foot of the gorgeous volcanic range that consists of Ostry and Plosky Tolbachik volcanoes. On the way, we will admire fabulous views of the highest volcanoes of the Kamchatka Territory: Klyuchevskoy and Kamen. Overnight stay in tents.

Tour of the major sights of Tolbachik Dale. We will observe the tops of once large trees of the Dead Forest buried under a thick layer of volcanic ash and cinder and explore the lava caves of the southern fissure. We will climb one of the cones of the norther fissure which still features volcanic activity. Exploration of the lava flow of 2012-2013. Overnight stay in tents.

Ascent to Plosky Tolbachik (7 hours). At the top, we will see a crater, 2 km in diameter and 500 m deep. On a clear day, we can enjoy the panoramic views of the volcanoes of the Klyuchevskaya group and the lifeless space of Tolbachik Dale with its numerous cones and lava flows. On the way, we will pass the epicentre of the fissure eruption of 2012-2013. Return to the camp. Overnight stay in tents.

Transfer to the village of Esso, the so-called Kamchatka Switzerland. In Esso, you can bathe in a pool with water from the hot springs. Visit to the Local History Museum. Checking into a hotel.

Transfer to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Lunch in the village Milkovo on the way.
